Donnie and his crew did a wonderful job of transforming my featureless back yard into an interesting and well built patio area with surrounding gardens. The original grade sloped down to an embankment with a lower level sheltered by mature trees. The embankment was wasted space that was a haven for weeds. To maximize the usefulness of the area, two retaining walls were built in an alignment that allows the existing trees to form an overstory canopy. Donnie designed and built a granite stairway that weaves between the trees and gives attractive and convenient access to the lower level which I plan to develop into a woodland garden. The retaining walls form a pleasing border between the informal wooded area and the new patio area with its paver stones and granite cobblestone edging. Three sides of the patio now form planting beds. I provided Donnie with a “wish list” of trees and shrubs that I like. The list included several Japanese maples, a redbud tree, hedging shrubs, and a few specimen items. To my surprise he sourced everything on the list and every last one is flourishing in its new setting. The attention to detail and the high quality of construction will doubtlessly result in my being able the space for entertaining and relaxation for years to come. This was the second project I have had done by DMO Scapes. I am so satisfied with the work that project #3 is already in the planning stage.
We have hired DMO Scapes twice now to take down trees in our yard, as well as tree cleanup from a storm. They are professional, reliable, and very easy to deal with. We felt their quotes were honest and competitive. We have recommended them to family and friends as well.
